Sweet 'Art

Daria who owns Sweet'Art is such a wonderful woman to work with. She has amazing baking and decorating skills and exceeded our expectations. We talked on the phone numerous times and at great length to design the perfect groom's cake and wedding cake. She is patient and kind and offers great suggestions! We decided to put fresh flowers on the cake which was supplied by South Pacific Florist and Daria did an AMAZING job of decorating not only the cake but the cake table as well. Both cakes tasted INCREDIBLE - our wedding cake flavor was orange blossom with 1 layer of dark chocolate ganache filled inside with the buttercream icing. The groom's cake was double dutch chocolate with a mocha buttercream filling and buttercream icing. I will be sure to use Daria again for future cake needs!!

Daria Horn at Sweet Art created both our wedding cake and a Philadelphia Eagles helmet as a groom's cake. We, and our guests, were so pleased w/the result! The cakes were beautiful works of art and also tasted amazing! I honestly felt that the cakes were the most unique and beautiful I've ever seen at a wedding! I would enthusiastically recommend Daria to anyone needing a wedding a cake!

Daria was recommended to me from Dawn at Salero, and I am so grateful for that referral. Daria does amazing work, and it is both beautiful and delicious! Working with Daria was very comfortable and puts you at ease; you are in the hands of a professional. She sat down with my husband and I, was patient with all of our requests, and was able to create a work of art based upon our somewhat vague idea of what we wanted. The cake was absolutely gorgeous, and it was delicious. We were so glad that we had some cake left over, especially when we came back from our honeymoon and our fridge was empty. I would eat Daria's cake for dinner any night of the week (if calories didn't count, of course). Thank you, Daria. We planned our wedding in Delaware from Florida so a cake tasting and consultation in person were out of the question. Dawn from Salero (where I had my reception at) had recommended Daria - so after looking around we ultimately decided to go with her. Not having a particular vision for my cake - just knowing I wanted it it clean and modern looking I sent Daria a few different cake designs that I liked. We talked on the phone and went through what I liked about each one and she created the most beautiful cake. It was exactly what I wanted - beautiful and simple. She also said that she liked to decorate the cake table so just leave any extra decorations we had and she would jazz it up a bit. I wish I could post a picture because everything looked so awesome. The cake was delicious and the portions were really generous! We had an extra tier in addition to the top one left over. It was just as delicious the next day when we ate it for breakfast :) The only small problem we had was she forgot our raspberry filling. I didn't even notice (I thought I forgot to tell her) but a few days later we got a sweet card in the mail from her apologizing for the over sight with a check double the amount of what we paid for the filling. I would use her again in a heartbeat. She creates beautiful and delicious work.

Our wedding cake was exactly what we had hoped for: beautiful AND delicious. Daria was a pleasure to work with, and her creations are true confectionery works of art! Her prices are very reasonable and affordable, and we loved our gorgeous cake from tier to tier!

Oh the sweet and decadent deliciousness that is a wedding cake made by Daria Horn of Sweet 'Art!!!! I can barely wait until my one year anniversary to eat the top tier! As recommended by Dawn Horton of Salero, there was no question as to who we wanted to bake our cake once we tasted her fabulous cupcakes (she gave us 6 to sample and we barely made it our her driveway before our faces were full of crumbs). To quote my husband - "That woman knows how to BAKE!" And he's right! Daria is a wonderfully delightful one woman show and even for as busy as she is, she worked with me to create a beautiful cake that not only looked gorgeous, but tasted delectable, too! I met with Daria face to face twice and we shared several phone conversations and I fell in love with both her fun and quirky personality and her passion for her craft! I was confident that our cake would be exactly as we envisioned and I was right. I would gladly sing her praises to anyone who needs a cake in Delaware (not sure how far she travels - but whatever the cost, it is worth it)! Her prices are extremely reasonable and her portions are generous. We were happy to have a big slice of cake to eat the night of our wedding (in bed!) and my only regret is not having a groomsman cake made..... I had a very positive experience with Daria and Daria's Sweet Art. As with many other brides, I had a very limited notion of exactly what type of cake I wanted for my wedding. Daria advised me that the groom and I should pull some pictures off the internet of cakes we liked and email them to her. We sent her approximately eight pictures of cakes we liked. She called me shortly thereafter and we chatted for around 30 minutes. Based on this conversation, she was able to extract exactly what it was the groom and I would like. It wasn't until the evening of the reception that I saw our cake design for the first time. I was blown away by how perfect it was. It reflected everything we discussed on the phone. She used real flowers and sugar flowers, edible pearls, fondant draping and extensive detail. The price was extremely reasonable. Her pricing included coordination with the reception venue and florist, delivery, and exquisite design decoration on the tabletop area surrounding the cake. Daria came highly recommended to me and I wish to pass on the recommendation to any other brides in the Rehoboth/Lewes area. You will be very pleased with your wedding cake.

We had the most beautiful cake in the world!!! I wish that I could post a picture to show it!!! Thank you Daria!!! What a great experience!! We can't wait to have some of the cake we saved for our first anniversary!!!

Daria was great. She had such creative ideas for cakes that we did not know where to start. Daria asked us questions to help us narrow down what we liked so as to help create our special and unique wedding cake. She was very professional and helped us a great deal. We had NO idea what we wanted before we met with her and ended up with an amazing and DELICIOUS beach wedding cake! I would highly recommend Daria to anyone!

The cake was absolutely awesome! Daria was so easy to work with, and her designs are top notch, especially for the price. She has such a versatile range of skill, and it was *cake* for her to execute what we had in mind. She also can do almost any flavor. Since we were getting married on the beach, we opted for the new 'guava' flavor. It was such a cool choice, not to mention delicious! Overall we had a very hassle free experience with our cake. It turned out great and it was a very pleasant experience to work with Daria.

Daria's "Castle in the sky" cake caught my eye, and I never even LOOKED at another cake. She was very pleasant when we met with her, and in our various phone conversations. The cake was absolutely fantastic, but by the time I had arrived at the reception, the stairs had fallen. It was perfect when she set it up- there are pictures- probably someone bumped the table. There was an issue when my wedding planner was not there to give her her check when she delivered and set up the cake, and she was reported to be less than pleasant, but her cakes are extraordinary.

Our cake was amazing. I seriously think it was the best cake I've ever had. We got the orange blossom cake with dark chocolate ganache filling, and it was delicious. I'm generally not crazy about sweets, but I can't stop eating this cake (we had leftovers :) ). It was also beautifully decorated. You may not get ahold of Daria right away, but when you do, she is very nice and easy to work with. Also, I was always able to get ahold of her when it really mattered. Highly recommended!

Our guests are still raving about Daria's beautiful and delicious wedding cake. We got a vanilla cake with rasberry filling and it was absolutely perfect. Because we were having a beach wedding, we wanted a relatively simple design with some shells made out of sugar decorating the cake. Daria met with us and gave us several ideas and photos of similar cakes she had done and that was really helpful. In the end, our cake was more beautiful than I had ever imagined!

Our cake was BEAUTIFUL!!! We still get compliments on it. I would recommend Daria, but I would warn people that she is not very professional or easy to get in touch with - I think that's just her!
