Winterthur Museum & Country Estate

When I first laid eyes on Winterthur, I couldn't imagine a more beautiful, romantic setting for our wedding. The gardens, the house, the entire estate--everything is amazing, especially when the gardens are in bloom. We had our ceremony by the Reflecting Pool and the reception at the Visitor Center--- Jen, Winterthur's event coordinator was SO on top of every single detail-- because of her, the evening went off without a hitch and everything came together beautifully. We received an overwhelming number of compliments-- everyone thought the food was amazing (catered by Winterthur's Restaurant Associates)! There are also tons of different options for a wedding, depending upon the number of people and the feel you're going for. I would definitely recommend Winterthur!!

Nicole and her staff at Restaurant Associates did a fantastic job! Planning my wedding was so easy- they thought of everything! On the day of my wedding, everything went perfectly- it was beautiful, the food was amazing and all of my guests are still raving about it! Choosing Winterthur for our ceremony and reception was the best decision we could have made!

Bobbi is wonderful at arranging a wedding - we had a lot of handmade decor items and she was on top of everything - everything was in the right place for our guests - the only thing that didn't go well was a) the tables were not arranged correctly, which made for some akward family strife ("no, you're table was supposed to be up front, not way in the back...") and the strawberries came out at the wrong time. (no biggie) The food was the BEST ANYONE had ever had at a wedding, and the setting is absolutely gorgeous!

We absolutely loved this venue! The service was excellent and they attended to every detail with precision and sensitivity. The food was absolutely the best wedding food we've ever had! We were intending to be married in the garden, but rain forced us inside to the entryway of the museum...and it was GORGEOUS! My only real critique of the venue was the outdated decor of the reception room. While it can be, "dolled-up," it's still in dire need of a make-over. Overall, highly recommended!

We worked with Rachel, one of the wedding planners there. There were some minor mistakes made (we asked for a square cake but got circle cake, during our tasting received some wrong selections), but overall very very good. The food at the wedding is excellent. They take great care of you. It's a little pricey I think, but if you go with Winterthur you don't have to worry about catering and you can do the ceremony and the reception in one place, so it's convenient. We had all kinds of centerpiece materials, decorations, name cards, etc. and they took care of setting up all of it - perfectly. You can trust them.

Beautiful location. The food was excellent and the whole area is gorgeous.

This rating may be deceiving. The event coordinator we worked with was HORRIBLE. She was very unfriendly and short with me while I tried to ask questions. It all began with a comment from one of my vendors who had a run in with the coordinator. Likely a blessing in disguise, the woman could not attend my event and sent me an email telling me someone else would coordinate the day of. After meeting the new person I was thrilled. The event was beautiful, I couldn't ask for a better venue or reception. I just wish I could have left the first person out of it. She was a b*&#$
